The AlorAir CleanShield pre-filter is the first-stage MERV-10 filter in the AlorAir CleanShield HEPA 550 air filtration device (AFD). It catches the coarse dust, lint and fibres at the intake so the HEPA filter behind it does not load up with them. Sold singly.
Important: Check Your Machine Before Ordering
This pre-filter is for the AlorAir CleanShield HEPA 550. If you run a Razorback MaxxGuard 550 or 550UV, it takes a different pre-filter: order the MERV-10 pre-filter 5-pack for the Razorback MaxxGuard 550 and 550UV (RBR-NA001ABJ005) instead.
Why the Pre-Filter Matters
The HEPA filter is the expensive part of an air scrubber. Every particle the pre-filter stops is one the HEPA filter does not have to hold. A clean pre-filter keeps airflow up and makes the HEPA filter last; a clogged one cuts airflow, so the machine moves less air through the room than its rating suggests.

Changing the Pre-Filter
- Switch the machine off and unplug it.
- Release the four locks holding the filter board in place.
- Slide out the filter panel board.
- Remove the used pre-filter and fit the new one.
- Slide the board back in and refasten all four locks before restarting.
On mould and sewage jobs, treat a used pre-filter as contaminated. Bag it at the machine and dispose of it with the job waste.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I change it?
Whenever it is visibly loaded, and between jobs where the last job was mould, sewage or fire. A loaded pre-filter costs you airflow and shortens the life of the HEPA filter.
Can I vacuum or wash it and reuse it?
It is a disposable synthetic filter. Replace it rather than cleaning it, especially after contaminated work.
Does it fit the Razorback MaxxGuard 550?
No. The MaxxGuard 550 and 550UV take the RBR-NA001ABJ005 pre-filter, sold as a 5-pack.
