Overview

Vacuum tank filter bag, short and square. HydraMaster part number 000-049-029, listed in HydraMaster's own accessory pages as 14" × 18" (approximately 36 cm × 46 cm).

The bag sits over the vacuum inlet inside the recovery tank and catches lint, fibre, hair and grit before the airstream reaches the in-tank filter and then the blower. Of the three HydraMaster bags this is the one to use where the tank is shallow but wide, and a long bag would simply fold on itself.

Choosing the right shape

Important: measure the tank, not the machine. Truckmounts of the same model have been built with different tank arrangements over the years. If you are ordering for a machine you have not bagged before, check what came out of it.

Operating advice

A wide bag has more surface area than a narrow one of similar volume, which is an advantage on lint-heavy work — but only while that surface is open. Empty and wash it rather than shaking it out.

Check the cord lock as well as the bag. A bag that has slipped off the inlet is doing nothing at all.

The rest of the vacuum path

The bag is the first stage. Behind it sits the in-tank filter, and behind that the blower — the component the whole path exists to protect. A bag left torn or blocked simply moves the problem one stage downstream.

Frequently asked questions

Is a wide bag better than a narrow one?

Only if it suits your tank. A bag that folds, bunches or fouls the tank wall filters worse than a smaller one that hangs properly.

Does it replace the in-tank stainless filter?

No. Both are fitted, and both do a different job.

How often should it be replaced?

On condition — thinning fabric, holes at the seams, or a bag that no longer comes clean.

Which bag suits my machine?

The one that fits your tank and inlet. Measure the old bag, or send us a photo inside the recovery tank.
