Why blades rather than pins

Pins would perforate the product you are testing and read a single point. Blades slide between sheets, contact a large area and leave the stock saleable. For a paper mill or a print operation that is the difference between a test and a write-off.

Blade electrodes are also the standard approach for books — conservation and flood restoration work where the item cannot be damaged.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a version for baseboards and trim?

Yes — the 19-E/STC has two shorter blades bent to 35 degrees, which is a much better shape for skirting, mouldings and sill plates.

Does it need a species or material correction?

Paper scales differ from wood scales. Check which scale your meter is on before recording a figure.

Can I use it on textiles?

Delmhorst makes a dedicated roller electrode for moving webs of paper and textile. Ask us if that is what you need.

Not sure which part suits your meter? Tell us the model and what you are testing and we will confirm the right one before you order.
