Jets are consumables
Jets wear, and the wear is difficult to see. A worn jet changes the spray pattern, drops solution temperature at the fibre and alters chemical draw, and the result looks like uneven cleaning rather than a worn part. As a working interval, replace brass jets every six months and stainless jets annually on a machine in regular use.
The stainless insert is why this jet lasts longer than an all-plastic tip and why the annual rather than six-monthly interval applies to it.
