Where it sits in the circuit
The chemical valve controls the draw of cleaning solution into the water stream. When a CoilJet runs but the chemistry is not reaching the coil — or reaches it inconsistently — this is the assembly to look at, along with the one way check valve.
The symptom that gets misread
A failing chemical valve looks like a chemistry problem: the coil is not cleaning as it should, so the technician increases the concentration. That masks it for a while and costs more in chemical than the valve does.
How the Valve Sets Dilution
The valve is a needle-type valve (the Spanish section of the CJ-125 manual calls it "válvula de aguja"). Turning it sets the dilution ratio. From the CJ-125 manual:

Before You Replace It
- Prime properly. SpeedClean's procedure: close the chemical valve, remove the nozzle, prime the water side, then open the chemical valve fully and squeeze the trigger until chemical is primed.
- Check the chemical tank is full and the pickup line is not blocked.
- Flush the valve with clean water. SpeedClean's storage instructions call for flushing the pump and chemical valve with clean water before long-term storage.
- Check the check valve and the chemical valve clamp.
Chemical Compatibility
SpeedClean rules out acids and cleaners containing sodium or potassium hydroxide in the CoilJet, and says to check any chemical with them first. Harsh chemistry is the fastest way to ruin a chemical valve.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need new clamps?
Plan on it. SpeedClean's CJ-125 service kit supplies tubing clamps and a crimper with its chemical valve. The 7-9 clamp for the chemical valve is listed separately.
Can I fit it myself?
SpeedClean's manual says service should be done by qualified repair personnel and warns that unqualified service can void the warranty. A competent technician with the crimp tool can fit it; if the machine is under warranty, talk to us first.
