About the CoilJet
The CoilJet is a self-contained, battery-powered coil cleaning system: a tank, a pump and a lance, built so a technician can wash an air conditioning coil in place without a power outlet or a water connection. Keeping one serviceable is a matter of small parts — a battery, a hose, a nozzle, a valve — and a machine sitting idle for want of one of them is the most expensive part in the kit.

Batteries fail from how they are stored, not how they are used
A sealed lead acid battery left flat sulphates, and sulphation is permanent. The CoilJet is a seasonal tool for many operators — used hard through summer, then left in a van over winter — and that is exactly the pattern that kills the battery.
Charge it before storage, and charge it again periodically through the off season. If a CoilJet has come out of storage with no run time, the battery is the first thing to check and usually the only thing wrong.
SpeedClean's manual says the same: always charge after use, plug the unit into the charger at least once a month during long storage, and use only the supplied smart charger, which switches to a maintain-charge mode and will not overcharge the battery.
The matching charger is the 12 V 3 A charger.
Changing the Battery
From the CJ-125 manual:
- Turn the power switch off.
- Remove the battery door by pulling up.
- Carefully remove the battery and disconnect the terminal connectors.
- Connect the wires to the new battery — black to the negative (black) terminal, red to the positive (red) terminal.
- Refit the battery in the compartment and replace the battery door.
- Charge fully before first use.
Take the old battery to a battery recycler. Lead acid batteries do not go in general waste.
Genuine or Alternative?
CCW also stocks a Giantz 12 V 15 Ah AGM battery as a non-genuine alternative for the CJ-125. Check size and terminals against your old battery before choosing it.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know it is the battery and not the machine?
SpeedClean's troubleshooting lists a low battery as a cause of erratic pressure and of the motor stopping abruptly. Charge it fully and test again. If it still runs short, check the connections and the fuse in the wiring harness before replacing the battery.
Can I leave it on the charger?
Yes, with the supplied smart charger. SpeedClean says the unit can be left plugged in indefinitely. Do not run the CoilJet while it is plugged into the charger.
Does it need topping up?
No. It is a sealed battery.
