Overview
Temperature switch, 185 °F (approximately 85 °C). HydraMaster part number 000-149-0111, cross-referenced by Bridgepoint as PHY149-0111.
It is a snap-disc thermal switch: a sealed device that changes state at a fixed temperature. There is nothing to adjust and nothing to calibrate — the set point is the part number.

Old-style machines only — the cross-reference is explicit that this switch belongs to the versions without adjustable thermostat control. If your machine has an adjustable thermostat, this is not your part.
Important — the set point is the part
HydraMaster use several fixed-temperature switches that look identical and are not interchangeable. Fitting the wrong one either cuts the machine out early or fails to protect it at all:
- 149-0111 — 185 °F (85 °C) — SpitFire 4.0, Crossfire 4.2, old style
- 149-021 — 218 °F (103 °C) — CDS 4.2, 4.7, 4.6 and 4.8
- 149-0181 — 235 °F (113 °C) — Crossfire 4.4

- 149-013 — 245 °F (118 °C) — Crossfire 3.7 and 4.2

Note that the Crossfire 4.2 appears against both 185 °F and 245 °F — the two switches do different jobs in the same machine. Read the temperature marked on the switch you are replacing before you order.
Fitting advice
Read the old switch before you remove it. The set point is normally stamped or printed on the body, and it is the only reliable way to identify what you actually need.
Note the orientation and the terminal positions, and photograph the wiring. Some thermal switches are normally open and some normally closed; getting that wrong will either leave the circuit permanently made or permanently broken.
Fit it in the same location, with the same thread sealant arrangement. A thermal switch that is not in proper contact with what it is sensing reads late, which defeats the point of it.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if mine is the old style?
If your machine has an adjustable thermostat control, this is not your switch. If it does not, and the switch you are replacing is marked 185 °F, it is.
Can I fit a higher-rated switch?
No. The set point is what protects the machine. A higher switch will let the machine run past the temperature it was designed to cut out at.
Is it adjustable?
No. It is a fixed-set-point device.
Is it the same as the Bridgepoint part?
Yes — Bridgepoint cross-reference it as PHY149-0111.
My machine is cutting out early. Is the switch faulty?
Possibly, but check first that the machine is not genuinely overheating. A thermal switch doing its job is not a fault.
