Flexible where a fixed adapter cannot reach
Split system indoor and outdoor coils are installed to fit the building, not to be serviced. A flexible lance follows a path a rigid one cannot — behind a unit, up into a cassette, around a fan housing — and holds the angle once you have it there.
Getting the nozzle square to the fin face is what does the cleaning. Everything else is water.
For a fixed right angle, the 90 degree quick disconnect adapter is more rigid and easier to control.
