The yellow metering tip for Hydro-Force injection sprayers. This is the tip the sprayer ships with from the factory.
Yellow gives 1:8 at 400 PSI, which is the factory pressure setting. At other pressures it gives a different ratio — see the chart below before you rely on it.
Ratio Depends on Pressure, Not Just Colour
This is the single most misunderstood thing about these sprayers. A metering tip does not deliver a fixed dilution. The ratio a colour gives you changes with the inlet water pressure.

Ounces per gallon as published: 1:4 = 32, 1:5 = 26, 1:6 = 21, 1:8 = 16, 1:10 = 13, 1:12 = 11, 1:14 = 9, 1:16 = 8, 1:32 = 4.
Work it in this order: find your machine's inlet pressure, then read across to the ratio your chemical label calls for, then fit that colour.
Operating Pressure
The AS08 Pro operates from 50 to 1,000 PSI and leaves the factory set at 400 PSI, which gives 1:8 with the yellow tip. The AS08P Plus starts at 100 PSI. Water flow is deliberately restricted as it passes through the injector, dropping pressure by roughly 64 per cent — so spray pressure at the tip is about a third of your inlet pressure.
Changing a Tip
Remove the clear tube at the bottom of the injection valve, then unscrew the metering tip anticlockwise. No tools, no draining, under a minute.
A clogged metering tip is on Hydro-Force's fault list for a sprayer that will not draw. Clean it before you condemn it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my dilution not match the label?
Almost always pressure. The ratio printed against a colour assumes 400 PSI. Run the same tip at 150 PSI and yellow gives you 1:4 — twice the chemical.
How do I know my inlet pressure?
Off your machine's gauge at the sprayer's inlet, not the truckmount's working pressure at the wand.
Which tip should I be using?
Find your pressure in the chart, then the ratio your chemical calls for. If you want the full ladder, the Metering Tip Kit HP AS08 (NA0816A) covers the published range.
Can I clean a blocked tip?
Yes — it is a clean-or-replace part. Do not open the orifice with wire; you will change the ratio permanently.
What happens with no tip at all?
At 400 PSI, no tip gives 1:4. That is a legitimate setting, not a fault.

What We See in the Field
Incoming pressure and concentrate viscosity change the actual injection rate, so calibrate it with the chemical that's actually going through the bottle. If the tip blocks, clean or replace it — drilling or poking the orifice larger destroys the calibration. The yellow AS08 tip is nominally 8:1 at the factory test conditions — actual draw still changes with pressure and chemical thickness.
