Low-Pressure Live Reel Swivel Assembly For Solution Reel

Regular price $497.48

Product Overview

A live swivel assembly for a solution hose reel.

A live reel is one you can draw solution through while it is still turning. The swivel is the joint that makes that possible — it carries the solution from the fixed feed line into the rotating drum without leaking and without winding the hose up.

Live Reel or Storage Reel

A storage reel holds the hose and nothing else — you unwind what you need and connect it. A live reel is plumbed, so you pull off only the hose you need and leave the rest wound with pressure already through it.

The difference on a job is real: less hose on the client's floor, less to coil at the end, and no connecting and disconnecting at the reel.

The swivel is the wearing part of that arrangement, because it is a rotating seal carrying pressurised solution.

Important — This Is the Low-Pressure Version

It is specified for a solution reel at low pressure. Do not fit it to a high pressure line without checking with us first — a swivel taken beyond its rating leaks at best.

The manufacturer does not publish a maximum pressure, temperature, flow rate or thread size for this assembly. We have raised all of it with the supplier. If you are specifying to a limit, contact us before ordering rather than assuming.

Symptoms of a Worn Swivel

A weep from the swivel while the reel is under pressure, or a reel that has become stiff to turn, both point here. Neither improves on its own — a swivel that has started to pass will keep passing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a live reel?

One you can draw solution through while it is wound. The swivel is what lets the plumbing rotate with the drum.

Can I use it on a high pressure line?

It is the low-pressure version. Check with us first — we do not have a published rating and we are not going to guess one.

My reel weeps under pressure. Is this the part?

Very likely, if the weep is at the centre of the drum rather than at a hose end.

What thread is it?

Not published. Tell us what it connects to and we will confirm before you order.

What We See in the Field

If a live-reel swivel starts weeping, deal with it while it's a weep. A small leak under pressure washes lubricant out, attracts grit and usually turns into a bigger leak at the least convenient time.

Reel leaking or stiff? Tell us the reel and the pressure you run and we will confirm the right swivel.
