A live swivel assembly for a high pressure solution hose reel.
A live reel is one you can draw solution through while it is still turning. The swivel is the joint that makes that possible — it carries the solution from the fixed feed line into the rotating drum without leaking and without winding the hose up.
It fits the Space Saver Solution Reel (AR11). Plumbing from the swivel to your truckmount is not included — see "What Else You Need" below.
Important — This Is the High Pressure Version
CCW stocks two live reel swivel assemblies and they are not interchangeable on rating.

Fitting a low pressure swivel to a high pressure line is the mistake worth avoiding. Going the other way is safe but unnecessary.

What Else You Need
The swivel only takes care of the reel itself. Additional plumbing — a leader hose and fittings — is required to connect the swivel to your truckmount, and is not included. Tell us your machine and van layout and we will quote the full setup.
Live Reel or Storage Reel
A storage reel holds the hose and nothing else — you unwind what you need and connect it. A live reel is plumbed, so you pull off only the hose you need and leave the rest wound with pressure already through it.
The difference on a job is real: less hose on the client's floor, less to coil at the end, and no connecting and disconnecting at the reel. The swivel is the wearing part of that arrangement, because it is a rotating seal carrying pressurised solution.
Operating Advice
- A live swivel is a wearing part. Treat a weep at the swivel as a service item, not a fault, and change it before it becomes a leak inside the van.
- Depressurise before working on it.
- Keep the reel turning freely. A stiff reel puts side load through the swivel that it was not designed to carry.
- Do not exceed the rating to gain a little pressure at the tool. The swivel is the component in that line least tolerant of being pushed.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between this and the AR35?
Pressure rating. This one is rated to 4,000 psi and 250 degrees F. The AR35 is the low pressure version, best suited to fresh water / garden hose reels and also used on low pressure solution reels.
Which reel does it fit?
It is specified for the Space Saver Solution Reel (AR11). For any other reel, tell us which one and we will check.
Is the hose to the truckmount included?
No. Additional plumbing from the swivel to your truckmount is required and sold separately.
Why does a swivel eventually leak?
Because it is a rotating seal carrying pressurised hot solution. Every seal in that duty is a consumable; the question is how long, not whether.
Can I fit it to a low pressure reel?
Yes. A higher rated swivel on a lower pressure line is safe. It is the reverse that causes failures.
Do I need a live reel at all?
Only if you want to draw solution with the hose still on the drum. A storage reel and a normal connection works, it just means handling the whole hose every job.
