VacAway describes Spot N Boost as easily the best ink, soil filtration line and general spot remover on the planet.
Its formula removes black filtration lines from carpet edges, under doors, along stairs and around heating and air conditioning vents. This water-based formula makes child's play out of removing ink and is even a great non-acidic rust remover. VacAway also lists it for toner, grease, tar, lipstick, mascara, magic marker and much more, with no sticky residue. It also makes a useful booster for pre-sprays and encapsulation products.
Directions
- In an inconspicuous area, test all carpeting or fabric for colour fastness before applying this or any cleaning product.
As a Spotter
- Generously apply to spot/stain, agitate and extract with HWE, or apply, agitate and blot with a spotting towel until the spot/stain is removed. Repeat as necessary.
- In the case of ink, if a slightly bluish or blackish tinge remains, apply RED VANISH to remove.
- For natural fibres such as cotton or wool, mix 1 part product to 2 parts water.
- It is always best to extract most spotting products after use, but this product will not leave a dirt-attracting residue if you fail to do so.
As a Booster
- Add 20 mL of Spot N Boost per litre of pre-spray or encap solution to experience a substantial cleaning boost.
Filtration Lines: What to Expect
Filtration lines are fine airborne soil (soot, dust, oily particles) trapped where air is forced through the carpet edge. They are among the hardest soils to remove. Expect to apply, agitate with a detail brush, dwell and repeat. Heavy, long-standing lines may improve rather than disappear, so tell the customer before you start.
Safety
The SDS on file (The Cleaner Image, US format, revised 9 April 2024) gives the signal word Warning and pH 9.0 to 9.5 at full strength. It states the product may be harmful if swallowed or in contact with skin and may be corrosive to eyes, with possible irreversible eye damage. Rubber gloves and goggles must be worn. Use with adequate ventilation. It is not regulated for US transport (DOT).
