The XPOWER XD-85LH is an industrial and commercial LGR (low grain refrigerant) dehumidifier for basements, large rooms, work sites, water and flood damage, and for prevention of mould and mildew. It removes about 40 litres per day at AHAM conditions and has an automatic purge pump.
Accelerated Drying
- Commercial LGR dehumidifiers are capable of moisture removal in extreme environments, such as below 30% relative humidity, compared to the retail version.
- The XD-85LH is capable of removing 40 L/day at AHAM standards (80°F, 60% RH) and 10 L/day in an Xtreme Dry environment (105°F, 20% RH).
- After flooding or water leakage, use a commercial dehumidifier to dry the area quickly, before mould or mildew forms.
Wide Range of Function
- The XD-85LH uses R410A refrigerant and can operate between 0.6 °C and 40.6 °C.
- Built to handle hot to cold conditions with its high-efficiency rotary compressor (low 3.7 A draw with 180 CFM of warm airflow).
- Suits construction sites, basements, water damage restoration sites, hotels, disaster relief areas, or wherever you need moisture removal at a professional level.
Automatic Operation
- The recessed digital control panel is simple to programme and easy to use.
- Set your desired humidity level and the machine will automatically purge water through the drainage hose when full, eliminating the task of monitoring collection tank levels.
- A manual water purge override is also incorporated.
- The drainage hose allows up to 4.5 m of vertical discharge — for example, set up in the basement and lead the hose upstairs.
Xtreme Dry
- XPOWER describe the XD-85LH as the core of their Xtreme Dry System, capable of bringing relative humidity down to 20%.
- XPOWER state that the resulting low-humidity condition draws moisture out of deeper materials, helping to prevent mould and mildew growth and structural warping.
- Combined with air movers and air scrubbers, the Xtreme Dry System can be a reparative or a maintenance system for your property or business.
What LGR Means on a Job
A conventional refrigerant dehumidifier slows down sharply as the air dries, because the coil can no longer get cold enough to condense water from dry air. A low grain refrigerant (LGR) unit is designed to keep removing water at lower humidity, which is where the last, slowest part of structural drying happens. That is why restoration contractors use LGR units rather than retail dehumidifiers.

Drain hose note: CCW's feature list has given the drainage hose as 7.6 m, and the specification as 12.2 m. XPOWER's US listing gives 40 ft (12.2 m). Check the hose supplied with your unit before planning a long run.
Electrical note: ETL/CETL are North American safety listings. CCW's listing does not show an Australian RCM mark for the 230 V unit — ask us if your site or client requires it.
Filters
The XD-85LH takes a primary and a secondary intake filter, both sold separately:
Check filters daily on dusty jobs. A loaded filter cuts airflow, and water removal falls with it while the machine keeps running as if nothing has changed.
Operating Advice
- Position the unit in the affected area with clear space around the intake and outlet.
- Run the drain hose to a sink, floor waste or outside — not onto a surface you are trying to dry — and keep it free of kinks.
- Close the drying area as far as practical so the unit is not drying the whole building.
- Pair it with air movers on the wet surfaces.
- Take and record readings at every visit. Grains per kilogram and material moisture readings tell you whether the job is progressing — the machine running does not.
Electrical Safety
- Plug into an earthed, RCD-protected outlet and keep the plug and lead off wet floors.
- Include the unit in your test-and-tag schedule.
- Do not run other high-draw equipment on the same circuit without checking the total load.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 40 L per day or 69 L per day the right figure?
Both. 40–41 L/day is at AHAM test conditions (27 °C, 60% RH); 69 L/day is at saturation (32 °C, 90% RH), which is typical of the first day of a fresh water loss. Output falls as the building dries.
Does it need emptying?
No. The automatic purge pump discharges through the drain hose, with up to 4.5 m of vertical lift.
Can it run in a cold building?
It is listed to operate from 0.6 °C, but all refrigerant dehumidifiers remove less water in cold air. In a cold building, adding heat speeds drying.
How many do I need?
It depends on the volume of the drying area, the class of water and the materials. Size equipment to the job rather than per room.
Can it be stacked for transport?
Up to 3 units high.
Tell us about the jobs you run and we will help you size dehumidification and air movement together.
