Important: Check the Valve Marking Before Ordering a Repair Kit
Two similar-looking valves are used on the D300 and D400, and they take different kits. A valve marked "DAM" takes PCMPRK167. A valve marked "K" takes PCMPRK671. The part numbers use the same three digits in a different order, so check the valve body, not memory. If the marking is not legible, send us a photograph.
External Jets on an Upholstery Tool
External jets spray in front of the head, so you can see the pattern and clear a blocked jet without dismantling anything. They are also easier to change when they wear.
The trade-off is that solution is applied ahead of the vacuum slot rather than within the head. On heavy soiling many operators prefer that; on delicate face fabrics an internal-jet tool such as the PMF AW50A contains the spray better.
4 Inch or 3 Inch?
The 4 inch head covers flat cushion faces and backs faster. The 3 inch version (AW45-D300) gets into tighter places: narrow arms, piping, cushion edges and stair treads. Both share the same valve repair kits.
Jets Are Consumables
Replace brass jets every six months and stainless annually on a tool in regular use. A worn jet sprays wide and soft, which puts more water into a fabric that can least afford it. The listed jet is the 8002 VeeJet (80 degree fan, 0.2 US gallon per minute at 40 psi) in 1/8 inch stainless, B306, which CCW stocks. Confirm the thread on your tool before ordering.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use it on a truckmount?
Yes, provided the pressure reaching the tool is 500 psi or less. The valve is rated to 500 psi, so regulate the machine down if it runs higher.
My valve is leaking. Which repair kit do I need?
Look at the marking on the valve body. "DAM" takes PCMPRK167, which CCW stocks. "K" takes PCMPRK671, which we can source on request.
Should I choose external or internal jets?
External jets are easier to see and clear. Internal jets contain the spray better on delicate fabrics. See the upholstery tools and detailers range to compare.
Tell us the machine or tool and we will confirm the part before you order.
