Anti-Allergen PreSpray is hypo-allergenic and designed for safe use around individuals who suffer from allergies, asthma, or chemical sensitivities.

Use as a pre-spray when cleaning carpet, upholstery, or mattresses and prior to an application of Allergy Relief Treatment.

Important: Read the SDS, Not Just the Label Claims

This page previously said the pre-spray is "non-toxic to humans, animals, and plants" and contains no "harmful solvents, or other hazardous ingredients". MasterBlend's own Safety Data Sheet (06-121207, rev. 12 Jan 2024) says otherwise, and those claims have been removed:

• Signal word Warning — H315 causes skin irritation; H319 causes serious eye irritation.
• Declares an alcohol solvent (5–15%), nonionic surfactants (5–15%), tall-oil fatty acids and a chelant (1–5% each) and potassium hydroxide (under 1%).
• PPE: chemical-resistant gloves and eye or face protection; respiratory protection if ventilation is inadequate. Do not mix with any other products.

CONFLICT shown, not averaged: MasterBlend's product page says "no solvents"; its SDS declares an alcohol solvent at 5–15%. Go by the SDS.

The ResponsibleCare Anti-Allergen System

MasterBlend sets the range out as four steps:

1. Anti-Allergen PreSpray (this product) — pre-spray, agitated with a pile brush or rake.
2. Anti-Allergen Detergent Rinse (All Fibre Rinse) — the extraction rinse.
3. Anti-Allergen Deodorizer — as needed, for urine and other odour problems.
4. Allergy Relief Treatment — MasterBlend's final treatment. CCW does not currently list it; ask us if you need it.

Allergen Claims — What This Page Does and Does Not Say

MasterBlend formulates the ResponsibleCare Anti-Allergen range for use in homes where people have allergies, asthma or chemical sensitivities. That describes who the products are designed for. It is not a medical claim: these are carpet and upholstery cleaning chemicals, not a treatment for allergy or asthma, and CCW makes no health claim for them.

Directions

• Mix 1 part of Anti-Allergen PreSpray with 10 parts water (90Ml/Ltr of water).
• Mix well, apply to the carpet, and agitate with a pile brush or rake.
• For use with an in-line sprayer, use undiluted with a 10:1 metering tip.
• For use on wool: mix 1 part Anti-Allergen PreSpray with 16 parts hot water (60ml/Ltr).
• Mix well and apply to the carpet.

MasterBlend recommends agitating with a counter-rotating brush, horsehair brush or pile rake, then extracting with Anti-Allergen Detergent Rinse. Test for colourfastness on a hidden area first.

Can I use it on wool?

Yes, at the wool rate: 1 part to 16 parts hot water (60 mL per litre). Test first.

Which rinse should I extract with?

MasterBlend designs it to be extracted with Anti-Allergen Detergent Rinse.

Is it non-toxic?

No claim of that is made here. The SDS classifies the concentrate as a skin and eye irritant. Wear gloves and eye protection.

Does it treat allergies?

No. It is a cleaning pre-spray formulated without perfumes or pesticides. It is not a medical treatment.
