Phoenix 16" x 20" x 2" Pleated Media Filter

Regular price $63.36

SKU:PRP4021475-01

Phoenix 16" x 20" x 2" pleated media filter, Phoenix code 4021475-01 — the standard filter for most Phoenix stainless dehumidifiers. Also described as PHOENIX FILTER STAINLESS DEHUMIDIFIERS 1.75X15.50X19.50.

This filter is engineered to provide an excellent combination of rugged construction, high-quality performance and low initial cost. The filter is a medium-efficiency, extended-surface pleated panel designed for use in all types of residential, commercial and industrial air filtration systems.

  • Sturdy double-wall frame design
  • Moisture-resistant beverage board frame
  • Listed Size: 16 x 20 x 2 inches
  • Nominal Size: 15.5 x 19.5 x 1.75 inches
  • Standard filter for most Phoenix stainless dehumidifiers

Listed Size vs Actual Size

Like most air filters, this one is sold by its listed (nominal) size of 16 x 20 x 2 in, but actually measures about 15.5 x 19.5 x 1.75 in (roughly 394 x 495 x 44 mm). The small undersize is deliberate so it slides into a 16 x 20 x 2 in filter slot. If you are matching an unknown machine, measure the slot or the old filter and compare it with both figures.

Features

  • Not reliant on electrostatic charge for efficiency
  • Low resistance to airflow
  • High dust-holding capacity
  • Sturdy double-wall frame design
  • Moisture-resistant beverage board frame

Standard Filter For

  • Phoenix 250 Max LGR Dehumidifier
  • Phoenix D385 Desiccant Dehumidifier Process Inlet
  • Any unit that uses a nominal 16" x 20" x 2" filter where filter quality is important

Phoenix's 2020 product catalogue lists part 4021475 as a 65% MERV-11 filter for the R175 / R250, the 250 MAX (stainless series), the FireBird, and as the process filter on the D385. The same catalogue lists a separate 35% MERV-8 filter (4024969) as an alternative for the 250 MAX; CCW does not list that filter.

On the D385 this filter covers the process inlet only. The D385 reactivation filter is a different part (Phoenix 4026315, MERV-7) — ask us if you need it.

Why the Filter Matters

On an LGR dehumidifier the filter keeps dust off the evaporator coil. A fouled coil loses water removal and is a strip-and-clean job, not a filter change. On a desiccant machine like the D385, the process filter protects the desiccant wheel. In both cases a loaded filter chokes airflow and the machine quietly removes less water while appearing to run normally.

When to Change It

  • Check it at every job change and whenever the machine is moved to a new site.
  • Change it when it is visibly loaded, and between jobs on dusty work — fire, soot, demolition, sanding or disturbed insulation.
  • Do not wash or vacuum a pleated media filter. Replace it.
  • Fit it the same way round as the old filter; if the frame carries an airflow arrow, it points into the machine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it fit my Phoenix 250 Max?
Yes. CCW lists it as the standard filter for the 250 Max LGR, and Phoenix's catalogue lists 4021475 for the 250 MAX.

Why is it smaller than 16 x 20 x 2 in?
16 x 20 x 2 in is the listed slot size. The filter itself measures about 15.5 x 19.5 x 1.75 in so it slides in without forcing.

Can I use a cheaper 16 x 20 x 2 in filter from a hardware store?
It may fit the slot, but check the MERV rating and frame. The genuine Phoenix filter is MERV-11; a lower-rated filter lets more dust through to the coil or desiccant wheel.

Does it fit the D850 or 1200 Desiccant?
No. Those machines use different sizes — see the related filters below.
