Brass strainer and jet body, 1/4 inch MPT. Use it to build a solution filter for any tool and stop debris reaching and clogging your jets.
This is the body only. It is the housing that a strainer screen sits inside and that a jet cap threads onto, so it is one part of an assembly rather than a finished filter.
How the Assembly Goes Together
A typical in-line solution filter built from Hydro-Force parts runs in this order, working from the solution line towards the jet:
- NA0804 strainer adapter
- NA0803 strainer screen — 100 mesh, no check valve
- NA0802 strainer body — this product
- Your quick connect or jet cap
If you want the filter to hold solution in the line when you release the trigger, use the NA0825 strainer screen with check valve in place of the NA0803.
Choosing With or Without a Check Valve
This is the decision most people get wrong, and it is worth understanding before you buy.
A check-valve strainer stops the jet dribbling after you let go of the trigger, which matters on hard surfaces and on upholstery where a drip leaves a mark. The trade-off is that a ball check valve costs you pressure equal to its opening pressure — the spring has to be pushed open before flow starts, and that pressure is gone from the jet. On a low-pressure application that can be the difference between a working fan pattern and a dribble.
Spraying Systems, who make the underlying strainer family, recommend check-valve strainers for flow rates up to around 0.8 GPM. Above that, or where you are already short of pressure, use the plain screen and accept the drip.
Technical Notes
The body is the TeeJet CP1322 pattern: 1/4 inch male NPT inlet with an 11/16 inch cap thread, so it accepts standard TeeJet-style jet caps and tips.
Hydro-Force's own injection sprayer manual lists a clogged NA0803 inlet strainer and a clogged NA0840 acorn strainer as the first two things to check when a sprayer loses pattern. If you are fitting this to solve a clogging problem, clean or replace those at the same time.
Not stated by the manufacturer: maximum pressure and temperature ratings for this body are not published by Hydro-Force, Interlink or Spraying Systems. For context only, Hydro-Force states that an injection sprayer may be run anywhere from 50 to 1,000 PSI — that is the sprayer's range, not a rating for this fitting.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it come with a screen?
No. The body is supplied on its own. Add NA0803 for a plain 100 mesh screen or NA0825 if you want a check valve.
Is there a stainless version?
Yes — see the 1/4 inch stainless steel strainer body NA0802-SS. Stainless is the better choice with acidic tile and grout chemistry, where brass will discolour and eventually pit.
Will it take my existing jets?
If your jets use a standard 11/16 inch TeeJet cap thread, yes. Measure the cap thread rather than assuming — that is the dimension that matters, not the jet number.
What mesh should I use?
100 mesh is what Hydro-Force supplies in both NA0803 and NA0825 and it suits most carpet and hard surface chemistry. Finer mesh filters more but blocks sooner, particularly with powdered products that have not been fully dissolved.
