This is a high-pressure part — treat it as one
Steel braid is there because the hose carries hot solution at high pressure right next to the operator. When the braid begins to show through the cover, or the cover has been abraded through, the hose is at the end of its life — not close to it.
Do not repair a high-pressure hose. Replace it.
Part number
CCW lists this hose as TH-48HPMF. The TH-40 owner's manual lists the tool's high-pressure hose as TH-48HP, "high pressure hose, swivel end". Length, pressure rating and end-fitting thread are not published; tell us your tool and we will confirm the hose before you order.
Inspect it every job
- Check the cover for abrasion, cuts and exposed braid.
- Check both ends for weeping at the crimped fittings.
- Check for kinks or flattening where the hose bends at the handle.
- Replace at the first sign of any of these.
Fitting
- Shut the machine down and release pressure in the solution line.
- Note the routing of the old hose before removing it.
- Fit the new hose along the same route, clear of pinch points.
- Tighten the fittings and test at low pressure before running at working pressure.
