Reading the Code
- B — 14 mm thread.
- P — projected insulator tip.
- R — resistor type, to suppress electrical interference.
- 4 — heat range. On NGK plugs a lower number is a hotter plug.
- E — 19 mm thread reach.
- S — standard copper-core centre electrode.
Heat Range Matters
A spark plug’s heat range is matched to the engine. Fitting a hotter or colder plug because it physically threads in causes pre-ignition or fouling — neither of which announces itself immediately, and both of which do real damage on an engine that runs at sustained load the way a truckmount does.
Check and set the gap to the engine manufacturer’s specification before fitting. Plugs are not always correctly gapped in the box.
Genuine Parts on a Truckmount Engine
The engine on a truckmount is the machine. An hour of downtime is a job cancelled, and the part that stopped it is almost always a small one. Genuine and correctly specified parts are not a premium here — they are what stops a two-dollar component costing a day of work.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many do I need?
One per cylinder. A Kawasaki V-twin takes two.
What gap should I set?
Use the gap in your engine manual. Do not rely on the gap as supplied.
Can I fit a BPR5ES instead?
Only if the engine manufacturer specifies it. A different heat range changes how the plug runs under sustained load.
What We See in the Field
[Technician's Note — replace before publishing: two to four sentences of first-hand CCW field experience relevant to this product. A pattern you see, a mistake customers make, or something learned from servicing or selling it. Not spec repetition, not a sales pitch, not invented.]
Engine parts are specific to the model and often to the revision. Send us the engine model and serial numbers from the shroud and we will confirm the part before you order.
