It is item 2 in the MAXX air pump assembly (drawing C-5383 Rev A), fitted with:
- 015-724 — bracket, air pump / alternator mounting
- 154-092 — spacer, air pump pulley, 17 mm bore
- 109-083 — pulley, AK30 modified to 17 mm bore
The MAXX hose schedule shows it fed from the air filter by a 22 inch hose, with an air pump hose adapter on the outlet.
CCW's record also associates this pump with the Javelin.
Important — "new style" is part of the description
HydraMaster's own wording is new style, which means there is an old style. If your machine has never had this pump replaced and is an early MAXX, do not assume the mounting, the pulley bore and the hose connections match.
Note in particular the 17 mm pulley bore and the AK30 pulley modified to suit. If your existing pulley and spacer are a different bore, they will not transfer to this pump.
Send us the machine serial number before ordering. This is an expensive part to get wrong.
Service advice
Air pumps on truckmounts fail for two reasons more than any other: running with a blocked or missing air filter, and belt tension set by feel rather than to specification.
Check the air filter and the inlet hose before you condemn a pump that is not making pressure. A collapsed or split inlet hose reads exactly like a worn pump.
Set belt tension properly when you fit a new pump. Over-tension destroys the pump bearing; under-tension glazes the belt and cooks the pulley.

Frequently asked questions
Will it fit an older MAXX?
Not necessarily. It is the new-style pump. Send us the serial number and we will check.
Does it come with the pulley and bracket?
They are separate part numbers — 109-083 pulley, 154-092 spacer, 015-724 bracket. We have not verified what is supplied in the box. Ask us before ordering if you need them.
What pressure does it deliver?
HydraMaster does not state the pump's output specification in the parts lists we hold, and we are not going to publish a figure we cannot verify. Ask us if you need the specification.
My air system is weak. Is it the pump?
Check the filter, the inlet hose and the belt first. All three read like a worn pump and all three are cheaper.
Send us your MAXX serial number before ordering — the old-style and new-style pumps differ, and we would rather check than have you fit the wrong one.
