HEPA Filter for Phoenix Guardian R Air Scrubber

Regular price $151.25

SKU:PRP4031864

This replacement HEPA filter is made for the Phoenix Guardian R Pro HEPA Air Scrubber System. Phoenix rates it at 99.97% efficiency, and CCW lists it at 99.97% at 0.3 microns. It is the final filtration stage in the Guardian R, capturing the fine airborne particles that pass the pre-filter. It suits restoration professionals, healthcare facilities and industrial applications where air quality matters.

Phoenix part number 4031864. Ordered as each, but also packed in an outer of 8.

How the Guardian R Filters Air

Phoenix describes the Guardian R as a two-stage system. A 1 in pleated pre-filter catches the larger dust first; this HEPA filter then captures the fine particles. An optional carbon/potassium permanganate filter can be added for odour work.

Position Phoenix part Size (Phoenix) CCW listing
Pre-filter (pleated media) 4031877 1 x 18 x 18 in Phoenix Pre-Filter for Guardian R
HEPA filter 4031864 2.5 x 18 x 18 in This filter
Carbon / potassium permanganate (optional) 4031878 1 x 18 x 18 in (CCW listing) Phoenix Carbon Filter for Guardian R

Change the pre-filter regularly. It is far cheaper than the HEPA filter and is what keeps the HEPA from loading up early.

Check Before You Order

  • Depth. Phoenix's product catalogue lists this filter as 2.5 x 18 x 18 in, which matches CCW's 457 x 457 x 65 mm. Phoenix's current Guardian R web page and some US distributors describe it as 2 x 18 x 18 in. Measure the old filter if your machine is not a standard Guardian R.
  • Part number. A later edition of the Guardian R service instructions lists the HEPA filter as part 4043627 (2.5 x 18 x 18 in). CCW is confirming with Phoenix whether 4043627 supersedes 4031864 or is a different version. Both are listed for the Guardian R.
  • Other machines. Guardian R500 and Super Scrub 500 are listed by CCW as compatible; CCW has not found a Phoenix document confirming this. If you run one of those machines, send us the model and serial number and we will confirm.

When to Change It

The Guardian R has a change-filter light. Phoenix's instructions are to change the pre-filter first; if airflow is still low with a clean pre-filter fitted, the HEPA filter needs replacing. On mould, fire and demolition jobs, check the pre-filter every day.

Do not vacuum, blow out or wash a HEPA filter. Cleaning damages the media and the seal, and a damaged HEPA filter is no longer a HEPA filter.

Changing It Safely

  1. Switch off and unplug the machine. Change the filter where contamination will not spread — inside containment on contaminated jobs.
  2. Wear the PPE the job calls for; a used filter from a mould or fire job carries what it caught.
  3. Bag the used filter straight away and seal the bag before it leaves the work area.
  4. Check the new filter's frame and gasket for damage, fit it the same way round as the old one (check the frame for an airflow arrow), and secure it with the hold-down clip so it seals all round. Phoenix lists the HEPA filter hold-down clip as part 4032954 — ask us if yours is missing or damaged.
  5. Refit a clean pre-filter at the same time.

Phoenix notes that servicing the Guardian R's electrical components is for a qualified technician. A filter change does not require opening the electrics.

Applications

  • Water Damage Restoration: Removing airborne contaminants during restoration projects.
  • Healthcare Facilities: Filtering airborne particles during works in occupied facilities. An air scrubber reduces airborne particles; it does not on its own make an area sterile, so follow the facility's infection-control requirements.
  • Construction Sites: Controls dust and particulate matter to support worker safety.
  • Industrial Settings: Improves air quality in manufacturing and processing plants.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I replace the HEPA filter?
When the change-filter light stays on or airflow stays low after fitting a clean pre-filter. Change the pre-filter often and the HEPA filter lasts much longer.

Can I clean and reuse it?
No. Replace it.

Is it the same as the 18 x 18 x 2 in filters sold in the US?
Phoenix lists 4031864 for the Guardian R. Depth is quoted as 2 in by some sources and 2.5 in by others; CCW's measurement is 65 mm (about 2.5 in).

Do I need the carbon filter?
Only for odour. The carbon/potassium permanganate filter is optional and does not replace the HEPA filter.
