Handling gloves, not chemical gloves
Leather palm gloves are for moving equipment — hoses, machines, ducting, debris. They are not chemical protection, and leather soaked in a concentrate holds it against your skin rather than keeping it off.
For chemical work use the glove material the product’s safety data sheet specifies. Keep the two pairs separate in the van.
What the features do
- Grain leather palm — grain leather is the smooth outer surface of the hide. It is dense, wears well and grips hoses and handles.
- Gunn pattern — a cut that moves the seams off the gripping surface of the palm, so there is less to wear through or rub.
- Knuckle strap — a leather band across the back of the knuckles for extra protection when reaching into machines and tight spaces.
- Knit wrist — an elastic knit cuff that holds the glove on and keeps debris out.

Care
Let wet gloves dry naturally, away from direct heat, which hardens leather. Replace gloves that have been contaminated with chemical, sewage-affected water or mould-affected material rather than putting them back in the van.
