Flexible duct, not layflat
Flexible plain-core duct holds its shape, which layflat does not. That matters where the duct has to run through a space rather than lie along it — into a ceiling void, across a subfloor, through a bulkhead — and anywhere it would otherwise collapse under its own weight or under negative pressure.
The trade-off is packing space. Layflat rolls up small; this does not.
For long runs from an air scrubber or dehumidifier, layflat is usually the better tool. CCW stocks Phoenix 250 mm layflat, Phoenix 355 mm layflat and 300 mm layflat.
Keep it short and keep the bends gentle
Every metre of duct and every tight bend costs airflow, and the loss is not proportional — a kinked duct can cut delivery to almost nothing while the machine sounds exactly the same. If a ducted setup is not drying, shorten the run before you add another machine.
Before You Use It
- Check the spigot size. 150 mm duct needs a 150 mm outlet or adaptor. It will not seal on a larger outlet, and forcing it onto a smaller one restricts airflow.
- Secure both ends. Use a duct clamp or duct tape so the duct cannot pull off under vibration or pressure.
- Watch the temperature. The listed limit is +80°C. Do not connect it to a heater or heat-drying outlet that can exceed that.
- Extend it fully. Flexible duct left bunched up in a concertina restricts airflow more than the same length pulled straight.
- Check for tears. A split in the outer surface leaks air and, on negative-pressure setups, pulls in dust from where you do not want it.

No. It is plain core. Where the duct runs through a cold space and condensation is a concern, use insulated duct.
Can I join two lengths?
Yes, with a 150 mm duct joiner and clamps or tape. Keep in mind that every extra metre costs airflow.

No fire rating is stated. Do not use it where a building code or job specification calls for rated ductwork.
