Important — Confirm the Thread Before You Fit It
This listing describes the threads as BSP. It is also listed under the alternate part numbers 100002 and 052-059, and it sits in the Hydro-Force fittings range — American-pattern fittings, where the thread is normally NPT. We have not yet confirmed which thread form the stocked part carries, so check it against the port you are fitting it to.
NPT and BSP are close enough to catch people out. NPT is a 60 degree thread form; BSP is 55 degrees. At 1/4 inch, NPT is 18 threads per inch and BSP is 19. Fitting Advice
- Use thread sealant or PTFE tape suited to the fluid and temperature, and keep it off the first thread so nothing sheds into the line.
- Brass is softer than the steel it often screws into. Tighten firmly, not with a long spanner — an overtightened bush can crack a port or distort its own female thread.
- Every reducer adds a restriction. On a spray or jet line, step down as close to the component as practical.
