Combine with Flex Powder with Citrus Solv to remove traffic lanes previously considered uncleanable.

DIRECTIONS:

To be used as the primary cleaning agent, or as a rinse agent, in the extraction process for heavily soiled commercial carpets. It’s highly recommended that a water softener be used for best performance results and to prevent precipitation caused by high heat truck mounts and hard water. Flex FIRE uses special rinse agents that perform best in warm water, temperatures above boiling will cause product separation. If a water softener is not used, reduce heat to below 200 degrees.

For truck mount concentrate: Add 1 to 2 cups of Flex FIRE rinse to 20 Ltr of cold or warm water. Mix thoroughly until dissolved. For systems metered on low settings, or for excessively soiled carpets, 3 cups may be used.
For portable equipment: Use 30 grams of Flex FIRE rinse per 20 Litre of hot water. For extra-heavy soil use 60 grams per 20 Litres of hot water.

pH and fibre compatibility

Bridgepoint publish a pH figure for most products in this range, and it is the single most useful number when deciding what to put on a floor.

2.8 to 5.5 Fibre set, encapsulating guards, acid rinses, protectors Suits wool and natural fibre. Strongly acidic products can affect some dyes — test first.
6.5 to 8 Shampoos, fabric prespray, general cleaning Broadly fibre safe including wool.
9 to 10 Encapsulants, powders, general prespray Usually fine on synthetic. Check the label before use on wool.
11 and above Traffic lane cleaners, fire restoration, heavy degreasing Synthetic only unless the label says otherwise. High alkalinity damages wool and can cause browning on natural fibre.

Rinse to a neutral or slightly acidic finish. Alkaline residue left in the pile attracts soil and can cause the carpet to resoil faster than before it was cleaned. That is what an acid rinse is for, and why the pH of the rinse matters as much as the pH of the prespray.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use this on wool?

Check the pH against the table above and read the label. Products at pH 11 and above are for synthetic fibre unless Bridgepoint state otherwise. Wool tolerates a much narrower pH band than nylon, and alkaline damage is not reversible.

Why does my carpet resoil quickly after cleaning?

Usually alkaline residue left in the pile. High pH cleaners work by breaking down soil, but anything left behind stays sticky. Rinsing to a neutral or slightly acidic finish is what prevents it.

Do I need to dilute exactly?

Yes. The dilution on the label is what the published pH refers to. Running a product stronger than specified moves the pH further from neutral, which increases both cleaning power and the risk to the fibre.
