The Air-Care SAXM0001 is the 305 mm (12″) Delrin pancake brush for the DuctMaster and TruckMaster contact cleaning systems. Air-Care describe it as a disposable replacement brush head.
It is sold singly. The stiff-bristle pancake brushes are a different item — see below before ordering.
What it fits
The brush-and-motor assembly used on Air-Care's DuctMaster and TruckMaster machines. CCW's DuctMaster III ships with a 300 mm pancake-style brush on that assembly, and this is its direct replacement in the 12″ size.
It does not fit the Cobra power brush systems, which use a cable-driven Flex-E-Bristle brush rather than a pancake head.
Delrin or stiff — which one do you want?
Air-Care produce the DuctMaster and TruckMaster pancake brush in two distinct types, and they are separate part numbers, not two names for the same thing:
- Delrin — this brush, SAXM0001, sold singly
- Stiff — 12″ stiff pancake, 5 pack and 18″ stiff pancake, 5 pack
Delrin is an acetal engineering plastic, chosen where rigidity and abrasion resistance matter. This is the softer of the two patterns — Air-Care specify the .021″ bristle for it, which is what you want on older flexible duct and internally insulated duct where an aggressive brush is a risk. Air-Care do not publish a bristle diameter for the stiff pattern, so we will not quote one; we have asked them to confirm it. If you are unsure which your machine has been running, send us a photograph of the worn brush and we will match it.
Choosing the size
Match brush diameter to the duct. A 12″ brush in a large commercial duct will contact the crown and the floor of the duct but leave the sides under-worked; an oversized brush in a small duct binds and loads the motor. Air-Care also offer this pattern in 18″ and 22″ sizes.
Wear and replacement
These are consumables. Judge the brush on bristle length and stiffness rather than on how the machine sounds — a worn pancake brush still spins and still looks like it is working while contact pressure against the duct wall has dropped away. If your camera passes are showing residual film where they used to show clean metal, check the brush before you change your method.
Warranty
Air-Care supply pancake brushes as disposable replacement items and do not carry a wear warranty on them.
Your rights under Australian law
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Normal wear of the bristles through use is not a fault. If a brush arrives damaged or fails early in a way that is not wear, contact us and we will handle it from this end.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as the stiff pancake brush?
No. Air-Care list Delrin and stiff as separate part numbers. This is the Delrin version.
Does it fit the Cobra-7?
No. The Cobra systems use a cable-driven Flex-E-Bristle brush, not a pancake head.
Is it sold in packs?
This listing is a single brush. Air-Care also produce a Delrin 5-pack (SAXM0002), which CCW does not currently stock — contact us if you want it quoted.
Can I re-bristle it instead of replacing it?
Air-Care supply replacement bristle sets for some of their brush hubs, but they list the pancake brushes as disposable rather than re-bristleable. Contact us before ordering bristles for this pattern.

What we see in the field
This is the brush we think about when somebody tells us they're dealing with older flex duct or internally insulated ducting and doesn't want to attack it with the stiffest brush available. Air-Care specifies the softer .021″ bristle for this work, but we'd still inspect the duct first — if the liner is brittle, flaking or already deteriorating, choosing a softer brush doesn't suddenly make an unsuitable duct safe to clean. That's one of those jobs where five minutes inspecting before you start can save a very uncomfortable phone call afterwards.
