With its built-in ambient sensors and included On-Demand Calibrator, the C555 comes with everything you need to perform the test as outlined in ASTM F2659.

Important: A Survey Meter, Not the Final Test
ASTM F2659 is a preliminary, comparative method. Wagner states the C555 does not replace in-situ relative humidity testing to ASTM F2170. Where a flooring manufacturer, an Australian flooring standard or a specification calls for an RH test before laying a floor, use in-situ probes such as the Wagner WFP405 Rapid RH L6 Concrete Flooring Professional Kit and Rapid RH L6 Smart Sensors. The C555 tells you where to put them.

Operating Advice
- Check calibration with the paired On-Demand Calibrator before each job.
- Test on smooth, firm, clean concrete. Remove coatings, adhesive residue and loose material from test spots.
- Hold the sensor pad flat and fully in contact with the surface.
- Scan in a grid and record readings with the ambient conditions, so you can compare areas and visits.
- Mark the highest readings for in-situ RH testing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I sign off a slab for flooring with the C555?
Not on its own where an RH test is required. It is a survey tool. Follow the flooring manufacturer's or specification's test method.
What does the 0 to 6.9 reading mean?
It is Wagner's concrete moisture scale for the top 13 mm of the slab, used to compare areas. It is not a relative humidity figure.
Will it read through tiles or vinyl?
Wagner designs it for smooth, firm concrete. Relative mode can compare other materials, but readings through floor coverings are not a concrete moisture reading.
Can I use it on timber?
No. Wagner does not calibrate it for wood species. Use a wood moisture meter.
