How a rotary hard-surface tool works
A spinner puts high-pressure solution through rotating jets inside a shrouded head, and pulls it straight back out under vacuum. The seal between the head and the floor is what makes it work: it contains the spray, it holds the vacuum, and it is why a spinner cleans grout without soaking the room.
Almost every performance complaint on these tools comes back to that seal — a worn brush ring, a damaged shell or a tired swivel — rather than to pressure or chemistry.
The brush ring is the seal
The ring is what rides on the floor and holds the vacuum. As the bristles shorten, the head sits lower, the seal breaks intermittently and the tool starts leaving water behind. Operators usually respond by slowing down or adding heat — which does not fix a mechanical problem.
If the tool has started leaving the floor wetter than it used to, change the ring before you change anything else.
The 15 inch equivalent is the TH-15 brush ring.
