Tramex Moisture Meters

Tramex instruments are non-destructive first. The scanning meters read moisture through a surface without pins, which is what makes them the tool of choice on finished floors, occupied buildings and anywhere a pinhole is a defect.

The range runs from single-purpose scanners to full ASTM F2170 in-situ relative humidity testing, and CCW carries both the meters and the accessories that make them compliant.

Meters include the ME5 Moisture Encounter, CME5 Concrete Moisture Encounter, the CMEX5 and CMEX2, the MRH3, the SMM5 and the DEC Scanner. Alongside them sit Hygro-i2 reusable RH probes with hole liners and caps, hammer and hand-held wood probes for both the 5-series and the CMEX2/MRH3, interface cables in DIN and bayonet, insulated RH hoods, contact temperature probes, calibration check plugs and salts, and the Feedback datalogger range for remote monitoring.

How to choose

Scanning and in-situ answer different questions. A scanning meter tells you where moisture is and how it compares across an area. ASTM F2170 in-situ RH testing tells you whether a slab is ready for a floor covering. A flooring dispute usually needs the second.

Probes are meter-specific. The 5-series (CMEX5, ME5, MEX5) and the CMEX2/MRH3 take different probes and different spare pins. Check which body you have before ordering — this is the single most common mis-order in the range.

Hole liners and caps are consumables. ASTM F2170 requires sleeved holes and an equilibration period. Budget the liners into the job, not the toolkit.

Calibration is part of the evidence. Check plugs and salt checks exist so you can demonstrate the instrument was reading true on the day. If the result may end up in a claim, that matters.
