Change them before they mislead you
A blunt or bent pin makes poor contact, and poor contact on a resistance meter reads low — it reports a substrate as drier than it is. Pins are cheap; the reading is not. Change them at the first sign of damage rather than at the point of obvious failure.
Storing the meter in the PTM2 single meter case is what stops most pin damage in the first place.
