What an Unloader Does
It diverts pump output back to the tank when the trigger is released, so a positive displacement pump is never deadheading against a closed valve. Without a working unloader the pump has nowhere to send its output, and pressure spikes destroy seals, hoses and eventually the pump itself.
Symptoms of a Failing Unloader
Pressure that will not adjust, pressure that creeps up while the trigger is released, or a pump that labours and gets hot when the wand is not in use. Any of those means stop and fix it — running on is what turns a valve into a pump.
About the VB 130
VB 130 is the model name of an unloader made by P.A. (Italy) for pressure washer and extractor pumps. Distributors publish the following for the P.A. VB 130. CCW has not yet confirmed that the valve supplied under SV3784 is the P.A. unit, so treat these as the published figures for that model, not a tested rating for this listing.

Before You Order
- Check the marking on your existing valve and compare the thread on each port — BSP and NPT versions of the VB 130 exist and they will not seal on each other.
- Note which port the bypass hose runs from and back to the tank. The replacement must be plumbed the same way.
- If your valve is not marked VB 130, send us a photo and the machine's model and serial number.
Fitting Advice
- Isolate the machine from power and water, and release pressure by opening the wand.
- Photograph the plumbing before you undo anything.
- Seal threads with a sealant suited to the pressure and temperature — do not let tape shreds into the valve.
- Back the adjustment off before first start, then bring pressure up slowly on the machine gauge to your normal setting. Never set it above what the pump, hoses and wand are rated for.
- With the wand closed, check that the pump bypasses cleanly and the pressure does not creep.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I just turn the unloader down instead of replacing it?
If it will not hold a setting or creeps with the trigger closed, adjustment will not fix it. The internal piston and seat are worn or fouled.
Is this the right valve for my SteamVac?
CCW lists it for SteamVac, PoliVac and Kanga machines. Models and production years vary, so confirm with us using the model and serial number.
