Important — check the size
SpeedClean supplies two clamp sizes for this circuit: 7-9 and 9-11. They are not interchangeable and the difference is the hose diameter they close on. Measure the hose or count the number stamped on the clamp you are replacing before ordering.
Why a clamp fails
Clamps in a chemical circuit corrode and lose tension. A clamp that has lost tension does not leak dramatically — it weeps, and the weep is usually found as a chemical stain in the machine housing rather than as a puddle.
A weep on the chemical side also changes the mix. Air drawn in at a loose joint on the suction side can leave the spray short of chemical, and SpeedClean lists air being sucked into the system as a cause of erratic pressure.

Fitting a clamp
- Turn the CoilJet off, relieve the pressure at the spray gun and drain the chemical tank.
- Note which clamp size came off which joint before you remove anything.
- Cut off the old clamp without nicking the hose or the barb.
- Slide the new clamp on, push the hose fully onto the barb and close the clamp over the barbed section. SpeedClean's CoilJet service kit supplies its tubing clamps with a crimper tool, so have one on hand.
- Refill, prime and run the machine with the base open or the joint visible, and check for weeping before putting it back in service.
Frequently asked questions
Should I replace the clamps when I replace the chemical valve?
Yes. Fit new clamps whenever a joint is disturbed. SpeedClean's CJ-125 service kit bundles replacement check valves, a chemical valve and tubing clamps for exactly this reason.
Why does the chemical stop mixing?
SpeedClean's support page lists an empty chemical tank, a blockage in the tank outlet or drain lines, a stripped valve stem, and valve damage from caustic cleaners. A leaking joint is worth checking at the same time.
Can I use a worm-drive hose clamp instead?
We do not recommend it. They are bulkier, can cut small-bore tubing when overtightened, and are not what SpeedClean fits.
