Seeing the water is worth more than it sounds

You know when to dump without stopping to open the tank, and you can see foam building before it reaches the float, which is when a machine starts pulling foam into the vacuum motor.

It is also the single most persuasive thing on a domestic job. A customer who sees what came out of their carpet understands what they paid for, and books again.

The tougher alternative is the heavy-duty fibreglass flip-top lid.

Looking after a perspex dome

  • Rinse the dome after every job. Dried soil and prespray residue cloud the surface and hide the water level.
  • Clean it with water and a soft cloth. Solvents and abrasive pads craze and scratch perspex.
  • Check the rubber seal when the lid goes back on. A lid that does not seal costs suction across the whole job.
  • Do not stack equipment on the dome in the van. If the lid gets rough treatment, the fibreglass flip-top is the better choice.

Frequently asked questions

Does it come with a seal?

Yes, the rubber seal is included.

Will it take my 2 inch vacuum hose?

Yes. The manifold takes either a 2 inch or a 1.5 inch vacuum hose.

Can I swap between the dome and the fibreglass lid?

Both lids are listed for the same Razorback machines. Tell us your machine and serial number and we will confirm before you order.

Is the dome tough enough for daily work?

It is a working lid, but perspex scratches and can crack if it is dropped or loaded. Operators who are hard on equipment usually prefer the fibreglass flip-top.

Razorback parts vary between models and production runs. Tell us the machine and its serial number and we will confirm the part before you order.
