Fibreglass or perspex?
Two lid options for the same machine, and the choice is about what you want to see.
- Fibreglass: tougher, and it survives being dropped and stacked. This listing.
- Clear perspex dome: you can see the recovered water without opening the tank, which tells you when to dump and lets you show a customer what came out of their carpet.
Both are supplied at no charge with a Razorback portable, so this is a replacement or a second lid.
Keeping the lid sealing
- Wipe the seal face and the tank rim at the end of each job. Grit on the seal is the most common cause of a vacuum leak at the lid.
- Check the rubber seal for splits or flattening when the lid goes back on.
- With a flip-top you cannot see the water level, so empty the recovery tank on a routine rather than waiting for the float to shut the vacuum off.
