The replacement mains charger for Stain Out Systems (SOS) cordless battery sprayers, supplied with an Australian plug. It is a universal 12.6 V × 1 A smart charger with a built-in indicator light, and CCW lists it as charging all new-generation battery sprayers from Stain Out Systems.

A note on the manufacturer's listing
Stain Out Systems' own website lists a sprayer battery charger under part number E-005-C at 12 V, 3 A, for its 12 V × 6 Ah battery. The charger CCW supplies is the Australian-plug version, E-005-A-SOS-AU, rated 12.6 V, 1 A. We show both rather than assume they are the same unit. A lower charge current generally means a longer charge from flat, so allow for an overnight charge rather than a quick top-up between jobs.
Use the Charger Designed for the Pack
A smart charger manages the charge profile and stops when the pack is full. A generic supply with the right voltage and the wrong behaviour will overcharge a lithium pack, which shortens its life and in the worst case is a fire risk.
Looking After Lithium-Ion
Store at partial charge rather than flat or full, keep the pack out of a hot vehicle in summer, and stop using any pack that has swollen, been crushed or been dropped hard. A damaged lithium pack is a fire risk and it does not always show its damage on the outside.
Charge with the manufacturer's charger. A generic charger with the right plug and the wrong charge profile is how packs are ruined and, occasionally, how they catch fire.
- Charge indoors on a hard, non-flammable surface, away from chemical containers.
- Unplug the charger once the indicator shows the pack is charged.
- Keep the charger dry — it is a mains appliance, not a site tool.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will this charge my SOS Penguin as well as the Gentoo?
Both current sprayers use a 12 V slide-in lithium-ion battery, and CCW lists this charger for all new-generation Stain Out Systems battery sprayers. If your sprayer is an older model, check the battery label or ask us first.
Can I use a generic 12 V charger instead?
No. Matching the voltage is not enough — the charge profile matters on lithium-ion. Use the smart charger made for the pack.
How long does a charge take?
Stain Out Systems does not publish a charge time for this charger, and it will depend on how flat the pack is. A 6 Ah pack charged at 1 A takes several hours from flat, so plan on charging overnight.
