The 4 inch Gekko Hand Tool is a handheld tool for cleaning grout lines in walls, countertops and other areas that a floor tool cannot reach. It is the handheld version of the 4 inch Gekko Head (AR51D).
Important — Hand Tool, Not a Wand Head
This is a complete handheld tool. It is not the 4 inch head that fits the Gekko wand — that is AR51D.
The two are easy to confuse because both are described as the Gekko 4 inch. Check which you need before ordering: if you are buying something to fit a Gekko wand you already own, you want the AR51D.

What It Runs On
Any truckmount or high-pressure portable extractor. Around 1,000 psi is sufficient for tile and grout work; the 2,000 psi rating is headroom rather than a target.
Operating Advice
- Control the water on vertical surfaces. Wall and shower work throws more than floor work, and a shower recess concentrates it.
- Work along the grout line rather than across the tile face.
- Do the vertical surfaces before the floor, so anything that runs down is picked up by the floor pass.

No. It is a complete handheld tool. The wand head is AR51D.
What is the difference between this and the AR51D?
The same 4 inch cleaning width. This one is handheld; the AR51D fits the Gekko wand for floor work.
Can I use it on shower walls?
Yes, and that is one of the jobs it exists for. Watch the water in an enclosed recess.
Do I need it if I have the SX-7?
The SX-7 (AR51G) covers handheld and upright work on the Gekko wand. If you already run it, this is a duplicate for most operators.
What We See in the Field
The Gekko range gets bought head by head over time, and the generation question is what catches people out — an old wand with a new head, or the reverse, bought months apart from different places. Check the generation before ordering rather than after.
The other pattern is pressure. Operators who are disappointed with a hard surface result are usually short on dwell time or running the wrong chemistry, and no amount of extra pressure at the tool makes up for either.
