How It Works, and Why It Fails
The nozzle is a restriction. Water accelerating through it drops in pressure — by roughly 64 per cent across the valve — and that pressure drop is what pulls concentrate up the draw tube. No velocity through the nozzle, no suction.
So a nozzle that is worn fails in a way that is easy to misread: nothing is blocked, water still flows, pressure looks reasonable, and the sprayer simply stops drawing chemical properly. Operators usually replace strainers and tips first and then start looking at the valve. Check the nozzle before you get there.
If the Sprayer Will Not Draw Chemical
Hydro-Force's own troubleshooting sequence works from cheapest to most expensive, and it is worth following in that order rather than replacing the valve first.
- Acorn Strainer (NA0840) — the strainer sitting in the concentrate. Clean or replace.
- Mesh Strainer without Check Valve (NA0803) — the inlet strainer filtering machine water. Clean or replace.
- The metering tip — Yellow Metering Tip (NA0816) or Brown Metering Tip (NA0816C). Clean or replace.
- Water Nozzle with O-Ring (NA0808) — a clogged or worn water nozzle loses the velocity that creates the draw.
- Injector Valve Repair Kit (NA0841) — if the container backfills rather than failing to draw, this is the kit for it.
- Injector Valve Complete (NA0809A) — replace the whole valve only once the above are ruled out.
Chemical build-up inside the valve is also a listed cause. Hydro-Force's remedy is to flush the unit for about twenty seconds with clean water containing an ounce or two of acid or vinegar until the lines run clear.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I tell a worn nozzle from a blocked one?
A blockage usually shows as a loss of flow or pressure as well. Wear shows as normal flow with weak or no chemical draw.
How long should it last?
The manufacturer publishes no service interval. It wears faster on abrasive or hard water and on machines run at the top of the pressure range.
Is the O-ring available separately?
There is a separate O-ring part for the water nozzle. If the nozzle itself is sound and you are only chasing a seal, contact us.
Do I need to reset anything after replacing it?
No. The ratio is set by the metering tip and your pressure, not by the nozzle.

What We See in the Field
If a Hydro-Force stops drawing properly, the water nozzle deserves inspection before the injector valve is condemned. A partial blockage reduces the jet velocity that creates chemical draw, while a worn or enlarged nozzle changes the venturi action as well. On an AS08, Hydro-Force lists a clogged or worn water nozzle as one of the causes of 'won't draw chemical'.
Drawing weakly with everything clean? The nozzle is the part most people check last and should check earlier.
