The acorn strainer that sits on the submerged end of the Chemical Draw Tube (NA0817), inside the concentrate bottle. It filters the chemical before it reaches the metering tip.

If the Sprayer Will Not Draw Chemical
Hydro-Force's own troubleshooting sequence works from cheapest to most expensive, and it is worth following in that order rather than replacing the valve first.
- Acorn Strainer (NA0840) — the strainer sitting in the concentrate. Clean or replace.
- Mesh Strainer without Check Valve (NA0803) — the inlet strainer filtering machine water. Clean or replace.
- The metering tip — Yellow Metering Tip (NA0816) or Brown Metering Tip (NA0816C). Clean or replace.
- Water Nozzle with O-Ring (NA0808) — a clogged or worn water nozzle loses the velocity that creates the draw.
- Injector Valve Repair Kit (NA0841) — if the container backfills rather than failing to draw, this is the kit for it.
- Injector Valve Complete (NA0809A) — replace the whole valve only once the above are ruled out.
Chemical build-up inside the valve is also a listed cause. Hydro-Force's remedy is to flush the unit for about twenty seconds with clean water containing an ounce or two of acid or vinegar until the lines run clear.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does this block so often?
Because it lives in the concentrate. Powdered products that have not fully dissolved, and any product that has been sitting in a warm van and dropped some solids, will find this strainer first.
The sprayer draws for a minute then stops. Is it this?
Very likely. A partially blocked acorn strainer will pass fluid until the draw pulls the debris hard against the screen, then stall.
Can I leave it out?
No. It is the only thing protecting the metering tip orifice from anything in the bottle.
Does it fit every Hydro-Force sprayer?
It appears in the parts list for the Pro, Plus and Revolution. If you are running something older, send us a photo of the draw tube end.

What We See in the Field
"My Hydro-Force won't draw chemical." If a Hydro-Force draws normally for a moment and then fades, pull this little acorn strainer and have a look. Undissolved powder and concentrate sediment get pulled against the screen and can choke the draw under flow even though the strainer looked passable at rest. Hydro-Force puts the NA0840 acorn strainer near the top of the AS08 'won't draw' checklist for a reason.
