The top of Vpro's wand range: a one-piece machined 14 inch head on a 2 inch titanium tube, with a lockable swivel and four stainless steel jets. Vpro builds it in the United States. As supplied here it has a red powder-coated tube and the standard clear anodised head.

The swivel is the point of difference. It lets the head stay flat on the carpet while the tube moves, which matters when you are working around furniture, along skirting boards and into corners for hours at a time. It locks when you want the head fixed.

What the 2 inch tube tells you

Tube diameter is the honest indicator of what a wand needs behind it. A 2 inch tube exists to carry the airflow a wide head demands, and that airflow has to come from somewhere. On a truckmount with the vacuum to match, a wide head on a 2 inch tube recovers well and covers ground quickly.

Put the same tool on a portable and the result is the opposite of what you paid for: not enough air to hold velocity across the slot, and moisture left in the carpet. If you run a portable, the narrower 1.5 inch tube tools are the right answer.

Swivel or fixed head

A swivel reduces the wrist and shoulder work of keeping a wide head flat, and it reaches corners more easily because the head can sit square while the tube comes in at an angle. The cost is a moving part that eventually needs service, and some operators simply prefer the directness of a fixed head. Vpro offers both in the same head and tube size, so the choice is preference rather than compromise.

This tool runs four stainless steel high-flow Vee jets: two 1/8 inch 9502 on the outside and two 1/8 inch 11002 on the inside. We stock both as individual spares, so a worn or blocked jet is a same-day fix rather than a shipment from the United States.

Choosing between the Vpro tools

Frequently asked questions

Will it run on a portable extractor?

Not well. A 14 inch head on a 2 inch tube is built around truckmount airflow. On a portable you will leave moisture in the carpet. The 12 inch, 1.5 inch tube wand is the portable-friendly tool in this range.

Is the whole tool titanium?

No, and it is worth being clear about it. The tube is titanium; the head is machined aluminium with a clear anodised finish. That combination is deliberate: titanium for the tube that takes the handling loads, aluminium for the head where machining accuracy and weight matter most.

Does the swivel need maintenance?

Treat it as a wear point and keep it clean. Vpro upgraded the swivel for longevity and it locks when you do not want it moving, but any swivel in a wet, gritty environment lasts longer if it is rinsed rather than left to dry out dirty.

Can the glide be replaced?

Yes. It is a thick slotted virgin PTFE glide and Vpro supplies replacements as a service part. We order Vpro spares on our regular shipments rather than holding them, so tell us early when a glide is wearing thin.

Can I get a different colour?

Yes. Vpro powder-coats tubes in a range of colours and can anodise heads in colour as a cost option. Vpro is upfront that anodised colour fades and marks with professional use, and that clear anodised is the most durable finish, which is why it is the standard. Colour changes are a build option, not a stock item, so ask us about lead time before committing.

How long does one take to arrive if it is not in stock?

Vpro builds in Los Angeles and ships to us by sea. If your configuration is not on our shelf, the wait is measured in weeks rather than days. Ring us for the current position before you plan around it.
