Soft Touch Valve Repair Kit Repair kit for AW791 (brass) and AW792 (stainless steel) soft touch wand valves. Westpak catalogue it as part 20-0019.
Fitment
Important: Soft Touch, Not Kingston 251-30
This kit is for the Westpak Soft Touch valve only. The Kingston 251-30 valve fitted to many CMP wands is a different design and takes the Kingston 251-30 repair kit (PKI25130). If you are not sure which valve is on your wand, compare it with the product photos or send us a picture before ordering.
One kit, both valve materials
The brass and stainless soft touch valves share the same internals, so this kit covers both. What differs between them is the body material and its corrosion resistance, not the seals.
Diagnose by where it leaks
Water from the jets with the trigger released is a seat problem. Water from around the trigger is a stem seal. Either way it is this kit — but knowing which tells you whether the seat needs attention while you have it apart.

Rebuilding the Valve
- Turn the machine off and release pressure from the wand before opening the valve.
- Remove the valve from the wand if you have room to work on the bench — it is easier to keep small parts together.
- Note how the parts come out, or photograph each step, so they go back in the same order.
- Clean the valve body and check the ball and bore for scoring. Scoring will cut new seals quickly.
- Fit the new parts and apply rubber grease to the stem o-rings.
- Refit, then run water at working pressure and check for leaks at the stem and at the jets with the trigger released.
Repair or Replace?
A kit is the economical fix for a valve that has started to weep or stick. If a rebuilt valve still leaks, or the body or ball is scored, replace the valve. CCW's general rule on these valves is to change the whole valve after re-kitting three to four times.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this kit fit both the brass and the stainless valve?
Yes. Westpak list 20-0019 for both the AW791 and AW792.
Will it fit a Kingston 251-30 valve?
No. Use the PKI25130 kit for the 251-30.
How often should the stem o-rings be greased?
Every 100 hours of use, with rubber grease.
What exactly is in the kit?
Westpak do not publish an itemised parts list. If you need to know before ordering, ask us and we will check stock.
Send us a photograph of your valve if you are not certain which you have — the Soft Touch and the Kingston 251-30 look similar at a glance but take different kits.
