Do not clean a paper cartridge with compressed air or solvents. Compressed air can damage the pleats and solvents will break down the paper — either lets dirt straight through to the engine.
Make sure the cartridge seats fully and the cover is secured. Air that bypasses a poorly seated filter carries dirt past it.
