Volenex 1.5L Viton Solvent Resistant Hand Sprayer

Regular price $111.32

SKU:AS05-VOLK

A 1.5 L pump-up hand sprayer sold for solvent-based spotters, degreasers and other chemicals that break down the standard seals in ordinary trigger bottles and pump sprayers.

  • Short nozzle head (to prevent damage).
  • 3 bar pressure spring sprayer.
  • Bottle with "EasyOpen".
  • Visual and touch-sensitive scale, which indicates the maximum filling volumes as well as the mixing ratios in litres, British pints and gallons.

Important: Check the Seals Before You Fill It With Solvent

The product title describes Viton seals. The technical data we hold (below) lists NBR as the standard seal material. Viton (FKM) resists a much wider range of solvents and oils than NBR, and the difference matters: an NBR seal can swell and fail with some solvents. We are confirming with the supplier that the units we supply are fitted with Viton seals. Until confirmed, check the seal colour and marking, or ask us, before using it with aggressive solvents.

Technical Data

Pressure build-up in the liquid container by pumping. A mere push on the spray button ensures an even and constant mist, which can be regulated by turning the nozzle nut.

Using It Safely

  1. Read the chemical's SDS and check it is compatible with the sprayer materials listed above.
  2. Fill to no more than the maximum mark, leaving air space for pressure.
  3. Pump to working pressure. The safety valve limits it to 3 bar; do not tamper with it.
  4. Spray a fine mist onto a towel or directly onto the spot as the spotter's directions require.
  5. Release the pressure before opening the bottle, and before storing it.
  6. Label the bottle with its contents. Do not mix chemicals in the same sprayer.

Care

  • Empty and release pressure at the end of the day. Solvent left under pressure shortens seal life.
  • Rinse with a compatible flush (water for water-based products; a small amount of clean solvent for solvent products), then spray through to clear the nozzle.
  • Store out of direct sun. Heat raises pressure and ages plastic.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why not use a normal trigger bottle for solvent spotters?

Standard trigger bottles and pump sprayers use seals that many solvents attack. The sprayer leaks, loses pressure or sprays unevenly. A solvent-resistant sprayer lasts longer and keeps solvent off your hands.

Can I use it for water-based products?

Yes. Label it and keep it dedicated to one product so residues do not mix.

How fine is the spray?

The standard 0.8 mm nozzle gives a mist, adjusted by turning the nozzle nut. A fan nozzle is available at extra charge.
