Which V800-EZ kit do I need?
Diagnose by where the water is coming from. It saves buying the wrong kit.
- Leaking from the jets when the trigger is released — the seal has failed. Use the seal and spring kit.
- Leaking from the stem, around the trigger — use the stem and O-ring kit.
- Leaking from the stem and the nut is worn or seized — use the stem and nut kit, which includes the brass valve nut.
- Leaking around the cap — use the cap and O-ring kit.
Fitment
- PMF V800-EZ valve — the current, easy-squeeze model
Important — old style or new style?
PMF replaced the V800 with the V800-EZ. The two look similar and the repair kits are not interchangeable. Before ordering any V800 repair part, establish which valve you have. The V800-EZ has the easy-squeeze trigger; the older V800 has the heavier pull.
PMF states that V800-EZ repair kits will fit the old V800 valve hanger, which is what makes this confusing — the hanger is common, the internals are not.
Frequently asked questions
Water is coming from the trigger, not the jets. Same kit?
No. That is the stem seal — use the stem and O-ring kit, or the stem and nut kit if the nut is also worn.
How often should a valve be rebuilt?
PMF tests the V800-EZ past 100,000 cycles, so a valve in normal service should last. Grit in the solution line is what kills seats early. If you are rebuilding often, check your filtration.
