Overview
Water pressure gauge, 2.5 inch dial, 0–1500 psi, supplied with the PGUC-250 mount. Sapphire part number 26-045, also catalogued as Legend Brands 117185. It replaces SS-26-005 and SS-26-041.
It is an alternate for HydraMaster 074-007.
Match the range to the machine
Pressure gauges are not interchangeable across ranges, and getting it wrong costs you either the gauge or the ability to diagnose anything:
- Fit a lower-range gauge to a machine that runs beyond it and you will over-pressure it the first time the machine runs up. It will not read again.
- Fit an over-range gauge to a low-pressure machine and the needle barely moves across the range you actually use, so small changes — which is where the diagnostic value is — become invisible.
For reference, CCW also stocks HydraMaster 074-003 (0–1000 psi) and 074-167 (0–3000 psi). Check what your machine actually runs at before ordering.
Reading it properly
Note what your machine reads at rest, at trigger and on by-pass while it is known good. That baseline is what makes the gauge useful afterwards.
- Reads correctly at rest, collapses under trigger — by-pass valve seals or the pump.
- Will not reach the set point at all — by-pass, pump, or a restriction upstream.
- High pressure with poor flow — a restriction downstream. Start with the inline strainer and the orifice, not the pump.
- Hunting or creeping — a by-pass ball not seating cleanly, usually debris rather than wear.
Fitting
Supplied with the PGUC-250 mount. Check your panel cut-out and connection before ordering if the existing gauge was mounted differently.
A needle that no longer returns to zero at rest has been over-pressured or shocked. Replace it rather than allowing for it — an inaccurate gauge will send you chasing faults that are not there.
Frequently asked questions
Will it suit a HydraMaster?
It is listed as an alternate for HydraMaster 074-007. Check the mounting and connection, and ask us if you are unsure.
What does it replace?
Sapphire SS-26-005 and SS-26-041.
Do I need the vacuum gauge too?
Pressure tells you what the pump is doing; vacuum tells you what the blower and the hose run are doing. The matching instrument is 26-044, 0–30 inHg vacuum.
Is the mount included?
Yes — the PGUC-250 mount is included.
My machine runs to 2000 psi. Can I use this?
No. Use a gauge rated above your machine's working pressure.
Tell us your machine model and the pressure it runs at and we will confirm the correct gauge range before you order.
