Razorback MaxxAir AAM Axial Air Mover

Regular price $623.04

SKU:DAT-AF-01T-E1B20339

The Razorback MaxxAir AAM is a 16 inch axial air mover for structural drying. It moves a large volume of air at a low amp draw, which makes it well suited to water damage restoration, flood work and general commercial drying where you need to cover a large area from a limited number of power outlets.

It draws 2.5 amps, weighs 15.4 kg (34 lb), stacks for storage and can be daisy chained up to six fans from a single outlet.

Key features

  • Two speeds
  • Daisy chain up to six fans
  • Stackable for storage
  • Weighs 15.4 kg (34 lb)

Low amp draw and built-in outlet

The MaxxAir AAM draws 2.5 amps and has a built-in GFCI circuit and outlet, allowing you to daisy chain more fans from a single outlet. This lets you reach more of the job from fewer power points.

Motor

The MaxxAir AAM uses a thermally protected motor with a 5-point motor mount, intended to deliver drying over longer distances. The motor and streamlined fan blade are designed to maximise airflow, and the two speeds let you select the drying power the job needs.

Streamlined profile

The 16 inch MaxxAir AAM has a streamlined design that allows close placement to walls and other surfaces. This helps in narrow hallways and cramped areas.

Performance pitch

Razorback describes a performance pitch design: holding the unit at its recommended angle and pitch is intended to direct air across the wet surface for faster evaporation.

Manufacturer's performance claims

The listing for this unit has carried two comparative claims: that the 2.5 amp motor gives 68% more airflow than competing units, and that the performance pitch dries an area twice the size of other brands. CCW does not hold a test report, a CFM figure or a named comparison for either claim, so we present them as the manufacturer's statements only. If you need airflow figures for a drying plan, ask us and we will chase the data.

Correction: this listing previously gave the diameter as "1410mm (16")". 16 inches is about 406 mm; the 1410 mm figure was an error.

Electrical notes for Australian sites

The built-in outlet is described as GFCI-protected, which is the North American name for residual current protection. On Australian sites, run air movers from an RCD-protected outlet, keep leads tested and tagged, and add up the current of every unit on a circuit before you daisy chain. Water on the floor and power leads are the combination that hurts people on drying jobs.

AAM or AAM Pro?

The MaxxAir AAM Pro draws 1.08 A on high and weighs about 13.4 kg, and adds an hour meter. Where power is the constraint on a job, the lower current of the Pro lets you run more units per circuit.

Frequently asked questions

How many can I run on one circuit?

The unit is built to daisy chain up to six fans. Add up the current of everything on the circuit and stay within its rating.

Does it need a stand?

No. An optional stand gives you more ways to redirect the airflow.

What is the airflow in CFM?

Not published for this unit. Ask us if you need it for a drying plan.

Can it be used for carpet drying after cleaning?

Yes. Axial air movers are commonly used to speed carpet drying as well as structural drying.
