It is not needed on the Balboa 700 Auto, Drago 1600 Auto, Floodmaxx Auto or Flood Mate Auto, which already fill and empty automatically.
What the upgrade includes
- Heavy-duty float valve with a premium hot fill hose to regulate incoming water to the machine. You can hook this up to any house-pressure water source, such as the hot tap used to fill a domestic washing machine, or a sink tap.
- High-volume pump that automatically controls the level of waste water while you work. Just hook up the waste hose and turn it on.
What you need on site
A tap to fill from and a drain or toilet to discharge to. Without both, the machine still works as a standard portable — you fill and empty it yourself.
Why it pays on bigger jobs
Without auto fill and pump-out, someone carries buckets: time on every fill, water on the customer's floor between the tap and the machine, and the cleaning stops each time the recovery tank fills. On a large residential or a commercial job that adds up to a significant part of the day.
It does not make the machine clean faster. The pump, pressure, vacuum and heater are unchanged. It saves the time spent filling and emptying.
Fill only or fill and empty?
If you only want to fill from a tap, the Razorback portable auto fill is the lower-cost option. This upgrade adds the waste pump as well.
Backflow
Connecting equipment to a property's water supply raises backflow prevention obligations. Check what your state requires and what the property has, particularly on commercial sites.

Can I fill from a cold tap?
Yes, any house-pressure water source will fill the machine. Hot water from the washing machine tap means the solution starts warm rather than waiting on the heater.
Where does the waste go?
Through the waste hose to a drain or toilet. Follow local rules for discharging recovered water, and do not discharge contaminated water from a restoration job to a stormwater drain.
