The Tramex FIK Flooring Inspector Kit is built for flooring inspectors who test concrete slabs and timber floors before a covering goes down. It gives instant non-destructive moisture readings in concrete, RH testing to ASTM F2170, pin readings in timber, and surface temperature and dew point – from one meter and its accessories.
Kit contents
Per the Tramex FIK kit data sheet:
- Concrete Moisture Encounter X5 – CMEX5
- 1 x Hygro-i2 relative humidity probe
- Heavy-duty pin-type wood probe
- Infrared thermometer
- Hole liners
- Extension handle
- Heavy-duty Tramex travel case
- Tramex Meters app for Android and iOS (phone not included)
What the kit does
The CMEX5 gives non-destructive quantitative moisture readings in concrete, using gravimetric testing as the baseline, and comparative readings to ASTM F2659. Plug-in reusable Hygro-i2 probes let you perform ASTM F2170 relative humidity testing in the slab, and the heavy-duty pin probe measures moisture content in timber. The infrared thermometer gives surface temperature, which with the CMEX5 hygrometer shows dew point conditions at the floor.
Over Bluetooth, the Tramex Meters app geotags results, creates and shares reports, photos and charts, and mirrors the meter screen on your phone when the meter is on the extension handle.

Flooring kits compared
| Kit | Contents |
| FZK – Inspector EZ Kit | CMEX5, 1 Hygro-i2 RH probe, pin-type wood probe, hole liners, easy-travel case |
| FIK – Inspector Kit | As FZK, plus IRT2 infrared thermometer and extension handle, in a heavy-duty case |
| FTK – Installer Tech Kit | CME5, DL-RHTX datalogger, contact temperature probe, extension handle |
The FZK and FIK are built around the digital CMEX5 for inspectors; the FIK adds the infrared thermometer for dew point work and the handle for surveying standing up. The FTK is built differently – the analogue CME5 with a datalogger, aimed at installers monitoring a slab and ambient conditions over a job rather than producing one-off inspection readings.
Before you order – a full ASTM F2170 test needs more than one probe
The kit includes one Hygro-i2 probe and hole liners. ASTM F2170 requires three test locations for the first 100 m² and one for each additional 100 m², so one probe is a starting point rather than a full test set – the AP-F2170-B accessory pack covers a complete test. Tramex's data sheet also does not list the RHIE2B interface cable that connects a Hygro-i2 probe to the CMEX5; ask us to confirm before you order if you need it.

Frequently asked questions
FIK or FZK?
Both have the CMEX5, a Hygro-i2 probe, the pin-type wood probe and hole liners. The FIK adds the IRT2 infrared thermometer and the extension handle. If you assess dew point and condensation risk at the floor surface, or survey large slabs, the FIK is the one.
Is a phone included?
No. The Tramex Meters app is a free download for iOS and Android and runs on your own device.
Can I buy the components separately?
Yes – every instrument in the kit is also sold individually. The kit is generally better value and removes the risk of ordering an accessory with the wrong connector.
