Microfibre bonnets on carpet and hard floors
Microfibre gives mild abrasion and high absorption, which suits interim carpet maintenance — a bonnet pass lifts surface soil and leaves the carpet usable in minutes rather than hours.
Bonnet cleaning is a maintenance method, not a restorative one. It cleans the top of the pile and does not reach the base, so it complements hot water extraction rather than replacing it. Presenting it as a full clean is how a customer ends up disappointed a month later.
Turn the bonnet
Once a face is loaded it stops absorbing and starts redistributing. Turn or change the bonnet far more often than feels necessary — most poor bonnet results are a saturated pad, not a wrong method.
