Fiberlock HydroBoost is a high-pH liquid additive designed to increase the cleaning and stain-removing power of Fiberlock's IAQ Advanced Peroxide Cleaner (APC). Fiberlock state that it works by instantly increasing the oxidation potential of APC, for jobs that demand heavy cleaning and stain removal.
It is an additive for Fiberlock Advanced Peroxide Cleaner (8314) only. Do not mix it with any other product. For professional use only.

What it Adds to APC
- Lifts and removes deeply embedded dirt and debris
- Removes tough stains caused by mould and mildew
- Reduces labour on heavily stained substrates
Important: Corrosive
The SDS currently available for HydroBoost is the US edition (August 2016). It carries the signal word Danger and lists: causes severe skin burns and eye damage, causes serious eye damage, harmful if swallowed, and harmful if inhaled. The US label lists H314, H302 and H332. The data sheet gives a pH of 13–14.
- Wear nitrile rubber (or equivalent) gloves, protective clothing and eye/face protection.
- Do not breathe spray mist.
- Store locked up, upright and securely closed in the original container.
Transport: the US SDS classifies HydroBoost as dangerous goods: Class 8 (corrosive), UN 1760, Packing Group III. Treat it as dangerous goods when shipping or carrying it.

Surfaces to Avoid
HydroBoost is a high-pH alkaline additive. Do not use it on any surface that a high-pH alkaline cleaner could damage, and always test an inconspicuous area first.
- Not for aluminium, magnesium, zinc or other soft metals: pitting and etching can occur
- Will degloss painted surfaces
- Not for fine or finished timber
- Not for glass
- Protect floors and surrounding surfaces, and clean up overspray and drips promptly
Directions for Use
- Read the label and SDS before use.
- Add HydroBoost to Advanced Peroxide Cleaner at between 10:1 and 8:1 (APC to HydroBoost):
- Minimum, 10:1: 12.8 oz per US gallon (about 100 mL per litre). One quart treats 2.5 US gallons (9.5 L) of APC.
- Maximum, 8:1: 16 oz per US gallon (about 125 mL per litre). One quart treats 2 US gallons (7.6 L) of APC.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Apply with a standard pump or hand trigger sprayer, following the application guidelines on the Advanced Peroxide Cleaner label.
- Apply within 5–10 minutes of mixing for best results. Fiberlock's current data sheet says to use the mixture within 20–30 minutes; older Fiberlock directions said 15 minutes. Plan to mix only what you can apply straight away.
- Do not return unused mixture to the original container.

If HydroBoost freezes, thaw it at room temperature and shake gently to remix.
A note on earlier versions of this page
Earlier versions of this page gave a single dose (16 oz per gallon, 450 mL per 3.8 L) and a 15-minute working time. The current Fiberlock data sheet gives a dose range of 10:1 to 8:1 and a 20–30 minute working time. Both are shown above. The safety and transport information has been added from the SDS.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I add HydroBoost to other cleaners?
No. It is for Fiberlock Advanced Peroxide Cleaner (8314) only. Do not mix it with any other product.
HydroBoost or HydroBrite?
Both boost APC. HydroBoost is a liquid with a fixed dose range. HydroBrite is a powder you can dose from 1 to 6 scoops per gallon, aimed at stain removal on porous timber and concrete.
How long does the mix last?
Apply within 5–10 minutes for the best result and use it all within 20–30 minutes. Mix only what you can apply straight away.
Will it damage aluminium?
Yes, it can pit and etch aluminium and other soft metals. Keep it off them, and off glass, finished timber and painted surfaces.
Is it dangerous goods?
Yes. The US SDS classifies it as Class 8 corrosive, UN 1760, Packing Group III.
