Caps are not optional
A negative pressure system draws through whatever path is easiest. An uncapped port is a wide-open hole next to the blower, and the system will happily move room air through it all night while the wall cavity stays wet. The drying log will show a machine that ran; the moisture readings will show nothing happened.
Cap every port you are not using, every time. It is the single most common reason an HP setup underperforms.
Where It Fits in the System
The end cap closes the open end of a 1.25 inch push-to-connect run. On an HP setup that usually means the last inline manifold in the line, or any 1.25 inch port you have left spare. Injectidry lists it for both HP and Direct-It products.
For the small 3/8 inch nipples on HP manifolds, use the soft red nipple caps instead.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many should I carry?
Enough to close every spare 1.25 inch port on your biggest setup, plus a few for losses. They are small and easy to leave behind on site. CCW sells them each, so you can order the exact number.
Does it fit the HP-PLUS packages?
Yes. Injectidry lists the EC-125 for HP products, which includes the HP-PLUS wall and ceiling and floor drying packages, and for Direct-It products.
Why is my end cap leaking?
Push-to-connect fittings seal on a square, clean tube end. Check the tube is cut square, fully pushed home and not scored.
